The Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, with a location in the high Arctic and easy accessibility, represents a unique platform for high quality international research and education.

The Svalbard Science Forum and The Research Council of Norway in cooperation with The Norwegian Polar Institute and The Ny-Ålesund Science Managers Committee (NySMAC) invited researchers, research managers and stakeholders to the third Svalbard Science conference. The conference focused on achieving excellent science through cooperation; enhancing cooperation and quality within Svalbard research, building and strengthening interdisciplinary and international networks and consolidating Svalbard as an attractive platform for Arctic research.

Together with updates on the new strategies for research and education in Svalbard and inspirational talks from invited key notes, we invited participants to take an active role in the conference through presentations, poster sessions and group discussions.

The conference was held at Scandic Fornebu, Oslo 2–3 November 2021.

The conference was streamed from Svalbard Science Forums webpage about the conference:

The Svalbard Science Conference will be live-streamed (for free) from this web-page

The next conference is planned to be in 2023.
