ERC Proposal Reading Days open for registration
Unfortunately we have had to cancel all Reading Days planned for the second half of November and December due to the Covid-19 situation. We hope that it will be possible to organize sessions in the beginning of 2021. You will find links to the registration at the bottom of this page once new dates has been decided. We will also spread information via newsletters and social media.
Conditions for the reading days
- Only by preregistration
- You must sign Declaration of Confidentiality
- Photocopying or photos of the applications are not allowed
- Applications cannot be taken out of the reading room
Who can participate
The reading days are only open for researchers at Norwegian institutions (universities, university colleges, research institutes etc.) and for EU-advisers who are employed by Norwegian institutions. Please use your institutional e-mail address when you register.
This is an individual reading session only, and it does not include tutorials about the ERC. In order to participate you should be involved in preparing a proposal and familiar with the various ERC grant schemes, as well as the conditions for participation and proposal documents. You may stay as long as you wish during the session where you are registered.
Selecting proposals for the reading day
The applications are available as paper copies. Due to a combination of Covid-19 restrictions, logistics and transportation, you will only be able to read the proposals that you selected beforehand. Each participant will be able to select up to three proposals. This is done in the registration form. If you have problems accessing the list of proposals on your mobile device, please register from a PC. You can find abstracts for all ERC funded projects on the ERC web page: https://erc.europa.eu/projects-figures/erc-funded-projects
- You should not participate if you are in quarantine or if you have corona symptoms
- Keep a distance of minimum 1 meter to other participants at all times
Future Reading Days
We will also organise reading days during spring 2021. We expect to announce them before Christmas, and you find the registration page on this page. Furthermore they will be announced under "Events" at the Research Council web page https://www.forskningsradet.no/en/events/, in newsletters and via twitter, @erc_ncp
Once in a while we are sending out a newsletter about MSCA and ERC in Norwegian. If you want to subscribe to it or to one of the other Horizon 2020 newsletters you can sign up here: http://www.anpdm.com/form/454150447947425D4471/43455D417744465F4B71
Tutorials on ERC
7-8 times each year we are organising courses on how to write an ERC Grant proposal in collaboration with some of the large universities. The courses are announced at the Research Council of Norway events page.
We strongly recommend that you get in contact the EU-advisors/External funding advisors at your institution. If you do not know who they are; check the web page of your institute or faculty. They can advise you on the internal assistance that you can receive from them and the institution, as well as any project establishment support. Otherwise you may also contact us, the National Contact Points for ERC (NCP), see below. All information regarding ERC applications and grants are available at the ERC web site: https://erc.europa.eu/
ERC in Horizon Europe
The ERC programme in Horizon Europe (2021 - 2027)will to a very large extent continue like in Horizon 2020. You will find tentative call dates for 2021 on the web: https://erc.europa.eu/ We hope that the Work Programme for 2021 will be published around Christmas. The documents concerning each call will be published when the call opens, but for many questions it will be useful to consult the 2020 call documents.
